Game-changing Device Sets Wheat Protein

Dr Flora Spoilday has today announced the release of a fantastic new hand-held device that allows farmers to pre-determine the protein levels of their wheat crops.  Her research has been the culmination of several years of detailed analysis of the factors of protein synthesis within the  wheat plant and she has discovered that by exposing the growing crop to high frequency sounds this mechanism can be manipulated.

"It has not all been plain sailing" Dr Spoilday explained, "we had quite a lot of trouble with local dog owners whilst testing the device as they would respond to the frequencies our device was admitting, with some dogs attracted to our fields whilst the device was in use."

However the amazing accuracy with which which wheat protein can be set using this patented device led Dr Spoilday and her team to persist despite the regular canine interventions.

"We can set wheat protein to within 0.5% accuracy within a range between 10% and 15%." she continued,  "the key to this is the timing of when the device is used. A range from late March to mid-April being key and we've discovered that very early April, perhaps the 1st is best if you want higher protein levels."   Dr Spoilday said she and her team are particularly keen to work with organic farmers in the UK where protein levels can be a challenge.
